Entek Extruders : US$ 5,5 million expansion

Entek Extruders, USA will invest US$ 5,5 million to expand its facilities for the engineering staff and for the extruder laboratory. The laboratory is equipped with twin-screw extruders for customer trials and testing. Entek is manufacturer of twin-screw extruders, replacement barrels, shafts and screws.

Bi-Ax : OPP film production for Mobil Chemical

Bi-Ax International Inc., Canada is installing a new OPP film line in Wingham, Canada in order to toll manufacture film for Exxon Mobil Chemical Canada. Through this deal Exxon plans to get access to new oriented PP film capacity.

Colortek: New Production in Germany

Colortek, Germany will open a new production site in Germany to produce traditional liquid colors, biodegradable liquid colors, a range of other plastics additives and digital metering systems. The technical center is equipped with a twin-screw compounder to meet changing demands of the customers. Colortek has also plants in India and Japan and is licensee of Novotek in the UK.

Certain Teed: Expansion of vinyl fencing production

Certain Teed Corp., USA will invest US$ 13 million to increase its capacity for the production of vinyl fencing, a strong growing market in the U.S. The company will expand two existing facilities and will start fencing production in Lodi, California.

Tredegar : New Plant in China

Tredegar Corp., USA will open a new manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China to produce PE blown film for personal -hygiene products as feminine pads and diapers. The company already operates a plant in Guangzhou, China. Tredegar is a well-known manufacturer of permeable films for disposable personal-care products. But bad news for the 66 people employed in the Iowa plant. Due to the declining demand for diaper backsheet film in the U.S. the company will close its Manchester, USA plant.

HT-Troplast : Increased turnover in 1999

HT-Troplast AG, Germany increased its turnover by DM 60 million to DM 529 million in 1999. Acquisitions in the window and profile field have contributed to the growth. The Profit of DM 33,2 million in 1999 went slightly back compared to the previous year (34,3 million DM).

Hungary: Extrusion pushes plastic consumption

The plastic industry in Hungary has grown by 9,5 per cent to 464.000 t thermoplastics in 1999. Injection moulding is leader with 23,8 per cent of the used thermoplastics, followed by film extrusion (21,7 per cent) and profile and pipe extrusion (15,5 per cent). LikeNordenia, Wavin or Uponor almost all the global extrusion manufacturers has already production facilities or joint ventures in Hungary.

Dayton: Alliance with window fabricators

A group of PVC window fabricators and licensees of Certain Teed Corp, USA has decided to manufacture a new window system more suitable for the regional markets. This group called American Window Alliance has abandoned its co-operation with Certain Teed and has chosen Dayton Technologies, USA as the new extrusion partner.

Kraiburg: Establishment of US base

The rubber and TPE compound specialist Kraiburg, Germany has opened a marketing and distribution unit in North America. Kraiburg Corp, USA intends to push its range of TPE compounds and plans to add a TPE production facility near Atlanta within the newt two years.
